Core Class

Gentle Yoga
This class keeps poses simple yet powerful and goes with at a slow pace. The poses are selected or modified so that they are gentle on the body. Some props such as a strap are used to .... (purpose)?. Breathing techniques (Pranayama) are included, which .... (purpose, benefit)?.  This class is for all levels who like gentle & relaxing exercise and also useful for those recovering from illness or injury.

Vinyasa Yoga
The theme is connecting breathing with body movement. This class includes breathing exercises (pranayama), flow of postures and meditation. Modification of poses will be provided for all levels.  Physical postures (asanas) improve flexibility, strength, muscle tone, and range of motion in the joints.  Self-observation through breathing & movements will result in self-awareness, a calm mind and sense of peace.

Form Class (alignment based)
Based on Iyengar yoga, this class focuses on precise alignment. You will be introduced to proper alignment and form in forward bending, back bending, twisting and rotation of groins. We will go through each pose slowly enough where you will start to feel different parts of your body open. The goals are to guide students to practice yoga from a safety standpoint and maximize the benefit of each pose, yet still have fun and relax. Perfect for beginners and informative for all levels.

Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga appears easy, but is highly effective and deeply healing. It’s a yoga that can rejuvenate and relieve you from fatigue and stresses of everyday life. In this class, we will focus on gentle movements and slow stretching as well as using props and body positions to manipulate your body and nerves systems into a state of deep rest and relaxation.  Bring beach towels & two throw pillows.

Yoga for Kids & Teens
This class includes breathing, relaxation, meditation, and posture by playing with postures, using games, songs and visualization. It benefits the little ones besides having FUN!

Fundamentals of Yoga
Do yoga, do it the right way! This class, you will learn the fundamentals of yoga—poses and breathing technique. The series will cover diaphragm breathing to expand lung capacity, opening up dormant areas of the body and key concepts of body alignment. You will be introduced to proper alignment and form in forward bending, back bending, twisting and rotation of groins. We will go through each pose slowly enough where you will start to feel different parts of your body open. The goals are to guide students to practice yoga from a safety standpoint and maximize the benefit of each pose, yet still have fun and relax. Perfect for beginners but also informative for all levels.

 

Preparation for Class

▪ Bring a beach towel if you have one (for a prop)
▪ Arrive on time for classes
▪ Dress in comfortable clothing
▪ Avoide eating heavy meals before class
